I remember really liking Kings of Leon in college, although now I can’t remember which songs it was that I enjoyed so much. I do remember when the album Sex On Fire is on because I thought that song was super overrated and not nearly as interesting as their earlier songs. Admittedly, I must not have been too into them if the only song of theirs I remember is one I don’t like.

At any rate, if I wasn’t already familiar w/them, there’s no way I’d have listened to WALLS because the album cover is just creepy as hell. Since I was, though, I decided to give it a shot. I was really surprised by how hit-or-miss it was. 90% of this album was either pretty good or really bad. I liked the first 4 tracks a lot, but then the album went Over a cliff and didn’t ever really recover. It did get better toward the end, but they definitely blew all their best songs up front.

I don’t know if I’d ever come back to this album, but I’m definitely curious now to go back and listen to their older stuff, if only to rediscover what those songs were I remember liking so much.
