Holy smokes I forgot how good this album is! Whenever I think of Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, I pretty much exclusively think about The Ghost of You Lingers. I hate The Ghost of You Lingers. I must have mentioned this before, but sharp quickly repeated chords fill me with anxiety and that’s pretty much allΒ The Ghost of You Lingers is. I listened to it today because I always want to listen to the whole album for this project, even if I’ve heard it before and know there are songs I don’t care for. I think the last time I listened to this song the whole way through was the first time I listened to the record when it first came out. I’ve listened to this record a bunch of times (more than Transference or They Want My Soul combined, probably) and except for those two times, I always skip pastΒ The Ghost of You Lingers.

Aside from that track, this album is really great. Underdog is easily my favorite track, but there’s also a special place in my heart for Don’t Make Me a Target. I think Gimme Fiction (slated for tomorrow!) is my favorite Spoon album, and Don’t Make Me a Target is of a piece with my favorite tracks from Gimme Fiction.

I think aside from internal links, the place I’ve linked to the most on this blog is Wikipedia. I read a lot of Wikipedia while listening to these albums. For the album, the band, and anything else I come across from those starter pages. Today for the first time due to this project I had the pleasure of fixing a Wikipedia page. The page for this record had track 5 listed as “Rhythm and Soul,” not “Rhthm & Soul.” Totally trivial but it’s always nice to contribute I guess.
