As I said two days ago, Gimme Fiction is my favorite Spoon album, but Girls Can Tell is a very close second. It’s got the second best album art, too. I think The Fitted Shirt is my favorite track. Songs about clothes are weirdly compelling to me. I’m also a big fan of Jennifer’s Jacket by Presidents of the United States of America. The album does lose me a little starting with 1020 AM, but I really love the instrumental This Book is a Movie. Best line on the album definitely goes to the first track, though. “Don’t say a word. The last one’s still stinging.” So good.
